Lorena is a joint PhD student between the Briscoe Lab at the Francis Crick Institute and the group of David Klug at Imperial College London. She obtained a B.Sc in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, in 2014. She then completed an M.Phil. in Genetics at the University of Cambridge, where she carried out a research project in the group of Alfonso Martinez-Arias.

Lorena joined the Briscoe Lab in September 2015 and is focusing on the quantitative measurement of protein levels in single cells. To study this, she uses an in vitro system of cell fate specification of spinal cord progenitors.
