Pilar is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematical Biology working with Karen Page (UCL Mathematics) and James Briscoe. She studied Mathematics in University of Granada followed by a PhD supervised by Juan Soler Vizcaíno and Jose Luis López Fernández. Before starting the current position, Pilar was a post-doctoral fellow in The Computational and Mathematical Biology group at the Centre de Recerca Matematica (Barcelona) under the supervision of Tomás Alarcón.
Pilar’s research interests are on mathematical modelling the development of the neural tube in the vertebrate embryo. She aims to construct an in silico neural tube to model spatial patterning and how patterning is coordinated with growth and differentiation.
