Tom Watson is a PhD student in the Briscoe Lab at the Francis Crick Institute. He obtained a B.Sc. in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Exeter, UK. Subsequently, he was employed as a Research Assistant at the emerging biotechnology company Plasticell, before joining the Briscoe lab in 2014.
Tom’s research interests revolve around how cells make decisions during embryonic development. His project utilises embryonic stem cells as a model system to understand cell fate transitions in the developing neural tube
